APRIL, 2021 - Freedom to Read Inc. is replicating a successful model we've used in other communities to develop a strong relationship with the staff and students at Emma Cooper Primary School in Palmetto Point, Eleuthera.
Like many schools on Eleuthera, Emma Cooper Primary School does not have a fully developed library. In other settlements, Freedom to Read Inc. has partnered with schools so that students visit our libraries on a regular visit. Freedom to Read Inc. founder Susy Siel has been volunteering at Emma Cooper and working with a group of special needs students. Unfortunately, our public library in Palmetto Point is too far for students to walk safely. It is our goal to eventually arrange for a bus to transport students to the library. We're proud to collaborate once again with our strategic partner Exceptional Education Outreach and Principal Vernitta Thompson, who we worked with at Laura Anderson Primary School in Bluff. |
