Volunteers, local stakeholders tear through tons of database work at Tarpum Bay, Palmetto Point and Bluff Public libraries
October 2019 - Freedom to Read, Inc., volunteers joined local stakeholders at three libraries on Eleuthera in the fall of 2019 to accomplish a mountain of database work.
A library doesn't function unless it's well organized, and they spent hundreds of hours putting spine labels and bar codes on thousands of books at Palmetto Point, Tarpum Bay and Bluff public libraries. Follett School Solutions provides the Destiny Online Catalog so that readers in all the settlements on Eleuthera Island can see what's available at other libraries. Transportation can be challenging and it's not easy for readers to get to other libraries. Communication between the libraries is key. |
