Nov. 10, 2018 - Volunteers from ComputerReach, Apple and Bahamas Methodist Habitat teamed up with Freedom to Read Inc. to deliver and install 96 refurbished laptops to 13 locations on Eleuthera in early November.
A half dozen people worked for more than a week to make sure all the computers were up and running. The computers provide internet access as well as the ability to search through the Destiny online catalog. Many people on Eleuthera do not have their own personal computer. Having access to computers like these can change a person's life by making it easier to access information, apply to college and jobs, and handle everyday bureaucratic tasks like car insurance and passports. |
