The Story of
Lower Bogue Library
The process of transforming an old, abandoned building into a library in Lower Bogue began in earnest in 2015.
The library opened in June 2018 after thousands of hours of volunteer work.
Lower Bogue Library currently contains 4,061 books. There are about 145 patrons who use the library. On any given day, about 100 of the books are in the circulation in the community.
Lower Bogue Library is supervised by Brenda Johnson, a lifelong resident of Lower Bogue. Her background is in religion and education.
